The occipital headaches usually start at the base of the head that radiates to the top of the head as dull ache, sharp pain, throbbing sensation, pins/needles and/or vision changes, which results in deterioration of the quality of life.  The occipital headaches can be caused by: occipital neuralgia, facet (spine joint) arthritis, rib pain and etc.
